And Now a Word From Our Sponsor:
The question always comes up as to when is the best time to open a business.
Is it during good times, bad times or anytime. The short answer is that let us be real clear about being an entrprenuer: 2 out of 3 will fail within 3 years. So why even bother: Perhaps because it is more of a calling then a choice, or maybe you have spent most of your working life thinking I could do that better then the guy I work for or the store I currently shop at, or as in my case you thought I am more fearful of working for someone and being stuck for the rest of my life in a job I am not passionate about, I share with you that we opened our first store in 1975, 2 kids 7 and 5, in the highest unemployment area in Ct. at the time. I never regretted a minute of it, it was a calling more then a choice. we ran those stores (3)_ for over 23 years and then moved to D.C I guess I was burned out, worked on Professional Staff @ Congress for about 18 months and said I am now ready to go back into business, bought an exisiting retailer that had been in business 20 yrs. increased her business by more then triple, decided after 8 years it was time to move on: I continue our 25 year consulting to share what we have learned with the new wave of entreprenuers.
